Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Resources

English/Spanish 
Services include: Domestic violence/sexual assault/stalking crisis line, support groups/counseling services, legal Advocacy-assistance filing Protective Orders.

S.H.A.R.E. House
Services include: Emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence, crisis line, support groups/counseling services, legal advocacy-assistance filing Protective Orders.Serves Paulding and Douglas. Attorney on staff to assist domestic violence victims. Paulding County 770-443-0200

Free Legal Services

Georgia Legal Services Program
Does not assist with criminal cases, income based qualifications, limited funding.
Family Violence Legal Hotline

Services include: Legal advice and counsel for family violence survivors on divorce, custody, child support, visitation, protective orders, Medicaid, Peachcare, TANF, CAPS, Victim Compensation, food stamps, kinship care and other legal issues.

Douglas County Women's Shelter

Services include: Faith-based transitional housing program, up to 90 days for women and children. By appointment only: $50 deposit, GA ID and SS, clean background.

~Faith In Action

Services Include: Furniture and household items. Faith-based: Christian organization.

~Family Bridge Visitation Center
Services include: visitation center for non-custodial parents (supervised and unsupervised), Exchange supervision (pick up/drop off children). Food: 2nd Saturday of each month. Good Samaritan

Services include: Food assistance to GA residence, financial assistance for utilities/medications for Douglas County Residents, spiritual counseling. Must have proof of residence/GA ID.
Monday-Thursday 9am-12:30pm. Friday 9am-11:30am

Grief Share is a support group that helps with the grieving process of the loss of a loved one. Meetings are held on Fridays from 2 pm to 4 pm at Midway United Methodist Church annex at 1950 Midway Road, Douglasville. Free and light refreshments provided.
Healing Community Center

Walk-ins Welcome
Services include: Adult medicine, pediatrics, behavioral health, dental, vision, prescription assistance. www.HealingOurCommunities.org

Services Include: Second Hand Store: gently used, second-hand clothing, household goods, and home decor items at affordable prices. Assistance with household items and clothing for families in transition. Accepts donations.

Services include: Parenting education and “Mommy Store” program for baby items, free pregnancy tests and counseling.
